Attacknids win 'TNPC Seal of Approval'

undefined

It’s a happy day at Combat Creatures HQ! Our Attacknids have picked up yet another award! Already this year they’ve won the Popular Science Best at Show award at New York Toy Fair and Best Boys Toy of the Year in Australia. Now they’ve gone and been awarded the National Parenting Center seal of approval.

The National Parenting Center seal means so much to us because we believe so strongly in awards that are endorsed and tested by the most important people of all – the kids, and perhaps the second most important people, their parents! So this is a proud day for us all and we couldn’t wait to share the news with you all.

The National Parenting Center also put an awesome review on their website…

"Watching this spider-like robot come to life and start crawling around your home is quite a sight. We've seen lots of remote controlled vehicles but nothing that moves quite like this. Using the remote control takes only minutes to master and in no time you will be antagonizing the dog while firing soft foam disks.

The real fun comes when you introduce a second Attacknid and the battle ensues. The objective here is to knock off the armor of your opponent with those disks that fly a lot further than you might think. Granted at nearly $100 many parents won't be buying two, but you can bet your kids or Dad will be begging for another one or at least scouring the neighborhood for an opponent.

Testers thought the build quality was superb as it survived numerous drops onto hard floors. The instruction manual is very thorough and will get even the most novice of R/C operators maneuvering their combat creature in short order. Testers also felt good about the softness of the disks and their inability to inflict any damage, other than to other Attacknids."

About the NPC

The National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval program, created in 1990 as an adjunct to TNPC's support services, identifies the finest products and services being marketed to the parent/child audience. From educational and entertainment products and equipment to travel destinations, the consumer oriented testing process solicits evaluations from parents and their children. This award signifies to other parents that their peers have acknowledged a product's quality and desirability based on a wide variety of determining factors.

The Battle Arena really is going worldwide!

Sheng Tai Toys have teamed with Energizer batteries in Singapore as the official battery sponsor for the Attacknids. This means that the first location for the Combat Creatures Battle Arena will be Energizer's Singapore night race 2013. This event takes place on May 11th. There will be a total of 5000 participants at this race, with the Battle Arena being placed in the carnival area for everyone to play on both before and after the race.

From here the Battle Arena will begin it's tour of the country with events taking place at three different locations with a total of 22 days of battling. The format will run the same as the UK with live scoring, certificates for all who take part and the scores going on the combatcreatures.com live leaderboard so keep your eyes peeled on the leaderboard to see who comes out as the ultimate battler!

The Attacknids have invaded Australia!

So late last year we started working with a great company in Australia called Modern Brands. They are going to be selling the Attacknids to all the big Australian and New Zealand toy stores this year. Starting with the 2012 Attacknids, which will be officially released in Australia in April with the 2013 Attacknids being released at the same time as the rest of the world.

There are Toy Fairs all over the world at this time of the year so all toy companies can show off what fantastic toys they’ve got for the upcoming year. Well this week its Melbourne’s turn at the Australian Toy, Hobby and Nursery Show. This is where the Attacknids have been unveiled for the first time in Australia to say that they’ve gone down a storm would be an understatement!

On their first day on Aus soil they were awarded the 2013 Boys Toy of the Year Award by the Australian Toy Association! And on their second day following on from massive TV appearances in the UK and US they were having their first prime time TV appearance over in Australia on the biggest morning show, Mornings on Channel 9!

With Battle Arena events set to take place throughout April watch this space for more information on how to get involved with these events.
